Experimenting with wide-angle panorama photography:: A Shabbat sunset is reflected in the calm waters of Richardson Bay on a September Saturday evening, with Mill Valley in the foreground and Mount Tamalpais standing in the backdrop.
Awestruck by Pappa God's celestial artistry. He amazes with creativity.... all because He loves us.
It will take eternity -- and then some -- to begin to explore this truth:: "that the Messiah, Yeshua Jesus may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints [God's devoted people] what is the width and length and depth and height -- to know the love of Christ which supercedes knowledge; that you may be filled with all of the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:17-19)
Mt. Tamalpais, the prominent feature in this panorama, is a 2,571-foot (784-meter) peak, which is the highest elevation in Marin County immediately north of San Francisco. The summit offers breathtaking panoramic views including the Farallon Islands 25 miles out to sea, the Marin County foothills, San Francisco Bay and the East Bay.
According to the official Mount Tamalpais State Park brochure, Native Californians of the Coast Miwok people lived on or near the mountain. Its name comes from the Miwok word tamalpais (tam-al-pie-us), which means "bay mountain" or "coast mountain".
According to Wikipedia, the mountain's height, various faces and proximity to the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay contribute to its containment of several different microclimates ranging from cool and foggy to hot and dry, depending on the area of the mountain. Annual precipitation varies greatly, from 27.5 inches (700 mm) in the drier, eastern foothills, to 59 inches (1,500 mm) near the Bolinas Ridge close to the Pacific Ocean.
Mount Tamalpais State Park is home to more than 750 plant species and varied animal wildlife including raccons, gray foxes, squirrels, bobcats, coyotes, black-tailed deer and mountain lions. Over 150 bird species frequent the park, making it a birdwatcher's delight.
Hikers can enjoy more than 60 miles of park trails connected to a 200-mile trail network encompassing land managed by the Marin Municipal Water District and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, one of the largest urban parks in the world.
