Description
The last rays of sunset illuminate a picturesque butte mountainside garden as stately saguaro cacti (Carnegiea gigantea) stand watch, icons of the Sonoran desert in Arizona where I attended a conference honoring Israel.
It takes 75 to 95 years for these cacti to begin to grow their first arm. I love the desert where time is measured in decades and centuries.
God invites each of us to tune out the word's stress and distractions and come up to the summit to commune with Him face-to-face as Moses did, receiving divine wisdom to lead his nation of over three million people.
The Almighty called him friend. But it takes time, a marathon not a sprint. How the rewards are worth it!
The precious Holy Spirit quickens to my heart Song of Solomon 8:14 :: "Come away, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or young deer upon the mountains of spices."
May we take the wise words of the Good Book to heart... this is true living!

Artwork notes::
Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ ב ס " ד ] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
The "Fine Art America" watermark in the full resolution preview will not show in the final print/product purchased.

Magnificent cacti and scenery! I am impressed by how often the wilderness features in The Bible. John, The Baptist prepared himself for his mission by living in the desert eating locusts and wild honey, and The Savior Himself withdrew into the desert to prepare Himself for His Mission following which Satan tried - unsuccessfully - to tempt him and divert Him from His sacred role as The Savior and Redeemer of Mankind. This desert scene is full of beauty and nothing like the scrub found in the Sahara, the only desert that I have any experience of.
