Description
Update: This magnificent floral display is no longer in existence, having been replaced with a wooden fence put up by new neighbors. The colorful and spectacular extravaganza lives on in this uncropped photo, available as a beautiful museum quality wall print and greeting cards.
I prayed to God the Creator for more red color in some of my newer images.
Did He ever answer prayer!
During a neighborhood walk, I spotted these profusely blooming tea trees (Leptospermum scoparium) ~ with single red blossoms and double pink blossoms.
These magnificent plants, native to Australia and New Zealand, were at their prime with over 90% of their flowers in full bloom here in the San Francisco Bay Area.
California was on a covid-19 lock down when I wrote this; recreational travel was confined to biking and walking. Nonetheless, I am grateful to God for this bountiful floral beauty, the likes of which I would have missed had I been in a rush.
Indeed,
“The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.”
Song of Solomon 2:12 (NKJV)

Artwork notes:
With just very minor color and lighting adjustments, this uncropped photo shows very closely to the way the stunning colors looked in person when I took this photo under an overcast sky.
Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
