Description
A squadron of brown pelicans (Pelecanus occidentalis) glides gracefully over the bay on a very windy summer afternoon with the skyline of downtown San Francisco in the background. This photo was taken on July 12th, 2016 near the Golden Gate Bridge.
I stood on a hill while observing these majestic birds. Their low flight just above the bay combined with my vantage point made for this unique image as if flying with the pelicans.
At one time on the endangered species list, the population of the brown pelican has rebounded after the banning of the DDT pesticide.
These majestic and fun-to-watch birds are found along both coasts of North America and Central America.
Of all the birds I've observed, pelicans are truly one of the most elegant in flight!
"Adonai, how countless are Your works! In wisdom You made them all -- the earth is full of Your creatures." Psalm 104:24 (Tree of Life Version TLV)

Artwork notes::
Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".

One of my favorite sights during years spent in the Bay Area. A splendid capture.

What a great capture with superior focus on the birds. Definitely San Francisco> I wish to re-visit my old home town one day.
