Description
Half Dome majestically rises seven miles away in this less commonly seen, nonetheless spectacular view of Yosemite Valley in early June 2017.
El Capitan peeks above the left mountainside. Bridalveil Fall, hidden by the mountain, would be on the right hand side of this picture.
El Portal Road (California Highway 140), one of the routes leading to Yosemite National Park, meanders in the lower left of the photo, running alongside Merced River which flows through the valley.
This panorama is from a vantage point west of Tunnel View where I took my other photo of Yosemite Valley.
It is my very first visit to this breathtaking scenic gem in Northern California. Absolutely awe-inspiring... God’s creation is beyond magnificent.
I am reminded of the passage referenced in "The Sound of Music":
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1-2, Tree of Live Version (TLV)

Artwork notes::
An HDR effect has been gently applied to my original photograph to bring out the rich details, tones and textures to portray how I saw this scenery in person. In sunlit areas of the photo (including the face of El Capitan) where the HDR effect had “blown out” the details, textures from my original photo were added back painstakingly by hand there and throughout my photo.
This image may be ordered as a print for a beautiful addition to your wall décor for home or office, and/or as a gift idea for the travel or nature enthusiast.
Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
