Description

Just being out in God’s magnificent creation is truly one of the greatest ways to reduce stress.

During one of my nature walks, it was a lot of fun observing a gathering of lively black-necked stilts (Himantopus mexicanus) frolicking in the bay on a very warm February afternoon in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In one split-second of spontaneous energy, several birds took flight while others landed in a choreographed ballet.

As I was preparing this photo for sale, I felt the precious Holy Spirit drop into my heart my Savior’s words from Matthew 6:26::

 “Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns; yet your Father in heaven feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

Then I felt the Creator was downloading principles for success::

Indeed, the God of all creation provides for these birds’ needs.

But they are ever faithful to do their part.

A strong work ethic.
Being diligent and not complaining.

They are “on the job” every day.
Foraging for food.
Watching out for each other.
Taking care of their young.
Paying it forward to the next generation for the care they received from their parents.

If these birds didn’t faithfully perform their respective tasks in life, it wouldn’t be very long before their entire species would go extinct ~ into oblivion.

And we wouldn’t be able to enjoy their beauty.

Let alone take their picture.

And so it is with us. Our Heavenly Father has provided each and every one of us with the tools and resources that we need to succeed in life.

We simply need to trust and obey Him to do our part. By being faithful. Showing up and doing what is necessary. A strong work ethic like these birds.

Each and every day.

Then God is faithful to do His part.

It’s been said, “Without God, we cannot. Without us, He won’t”.

The Creator of the universe invites us to partner with Him to provide for our needs, share His love with the world and make a lasting difference in this lifetime and into eternity.

Nature Fun Facts:

The black-necked stilt has the second longest legs in proportion to its body than any other bird. Only the flamingo has longer legs.

This strikingly beautiful shorebird is found mostly in coastal California, the Gulf of Mexico and Florida, and in Mexico and parts of South America.

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
