A volunteer garden rose blooms in time for Passover Week. Its deep crimson hues are a reminder of the lamb's blood applied to the doorposts which protected the Israelites from the death angel as it passed over (Exodus 12:1-28; Hebrews 11:28).
This photo was taken April 21st, 2016. English and Hebrew text were added via Photoshop.
Today's celebration of Passover in the cherished and beloved Jewish Seder commemorates Israel's freedom from the bondage of ancient Egypt. This prophetically foreshadowed the Spotless Lamb, Yeshua Jesus, Who came as the Ultimate Sacrifice as atonement for our sins, when we are reconciled to God (Isaiah 53:5; John 19:34-37; 1 Peter 1:2, 2:24). May we be ever grateful for this indescribable gift!

Passover is celebrated on the 15th day of the month of Nissan, which is the first month on the Jewish calendar. This corresponds to March or April on the Gregorian calendar.
For 2025, Passover will be April 12-20.
For 2026, Passover will be April 1-9.
This special holiday has been commemorated in Jerusalem, Israel, since the days of antiquity. It is recorded in Scripture that Yeshua Jesus kept the Passover with His disciples (Matthew 26:17-18; Mark 14:12-16; Luke 22:7-17; John 2:23).
The Messiah and Savior went on to become the full embodiment and fulfillment of the Passover Lamb with His crucifixion, death, and resurrection (Psalm 22:18[19], Isaiah 53:5-12, fulfilled in John 19:17-30, Romans 5:6-8; and Psalm 16:8-11 fulfilled in Matthew 28:5-9, Mark 16:6, Luke 24:4-7, John 20:11-16, and Acts 2:24-28).
One day, He will return as King of kings and Lord of lords as so eloquently portrayed in Handel's "Messiah".
Both Jewish people and Gentiles celebrate Passover throughout the world with a beautiful and meaningful ceremony, foods symbolic of the Passover and much joy.

Happy Passover!

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ ב ס " ד ] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
The "Fine Art America" watermark in the full resolution preview will not show in the final print/product purchased.
