This artwork is dedicated in loving memory of Precious Mother Cheryl, whose classic spools of thread appear in this still life portrait.

Art revealed in life's "surprises" :: OK, I've got a confession to make. I accidentally knocked over Mom's sewing kit, scattering dozens of colorful spools of thread, sewing needles and pins all over the carpet.

Before feelings of dismay set in, I felt a Holy Spirit nudge:: Make art out of it.

I carefully gathered the items together into this photographic mosaic - Voila!

This reminds me of Corrie Ten Boom showing the backside of an embroidered piece of cloth with its tangled threads, then turning it over to reveal the exquisitely woven image of a beautiful crown.

So it is when we submit our lives to God's unfailing love. Our loving Heavenly Father turns life's mishaps and mess-ups into testimonies of lasting beauty and elegance that give Him honor and glory when we trust Him completely.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says it best:: "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (KJV).
