Description

A simple, stately Cross stands as a magnificent sentinel, a Beacon of Hope overlooking the valley near Arvin, California.

As the sacred emblem stood on private land, I took this photo from outside the gate in a parking area along the roadway.

The afternoon sun created dramatic lighting as the Cross stood out against the sky and clouds.

"God alone is my mighty rock and my salvation,
my strong tower —
I will not be moved."
~ Psalm 62:7 [paraphrased]

The Cross represents God’s greatest gift, His precious Son, Messiah Yeshua Jesus Who came as a human being clothed in Diety, Who performed miracles during His earthly life and died on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sins.

Upon His back He took 39 stripes, one for each of the 39 known categories of diseases.

The Creator of the universe yearns to have a personal relationship with you. God loves you so much, He would send His One and Only Son to die for your sins even if you were the only person on Earth.

Today, right now, receive that gift of eternal life by inviting Jesus into your heart.

It’s as simple yet eternally meaningful as saying out loud these words from your heart::

“Father God, forgive me of my sins.
Jesus, come into my heart.
Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
THANK YOU for saving me today.”

Where is Jesus now?

In fact, the angels of heaven are rejoicing, they are throwing a party in your honor! (Luke 15:7,10)

Artwork notes:

The afternoon lighting was nearly ideal illuminating the Cross against a partly cloudy sky. There were some areas of noticeable graffiti on the rocks, which I carefully removed from the image via Photoshop. The rocks remind me of the hill I saw in Jerusalem, Israel where my precious Lord, Savior and Messiah willingly gave His life as a ransom and remission for the sins of humanity.

I took this photo during a trip to Central California to photograph the spring wildflowers in March 2019, and to attend meetings with Joan Hunter Ministries, during which hundreds of people were healed in Jesus' name.

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ ב ס " ד ] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
