Description

Historic site of the "First Palm Sunday": The Golden (Eastern) Gate in Jerusalem, Israel is one of 11 ancient gates in the Old City walls of the Holy City. It is estimated the current gate pictured was constructed sometime between 520 and 800s A.D.

This gate is particularly significant because it was built upon the original site of Yeshua Jesus' triumphal entry one week before His crucifixion and resurrection.

This event was prophesied in detail by the Jewish prophets 400 years prior in Zechariah 9:9::
"Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion!
Shout, daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you,
a righteous one bringing salvation.
He is lowly, riding on a donkey—
on a colt, the foal of a donkey."

It was fulfilled in John 12:12-15:
"The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: 'Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! The King of Israel!' Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: 'Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt.'"

According to prophecy, one day Messiah Yeshua Jesus will supernaturally and literally enter this gate again when He returns.

Because Yeshua Jesus ~ The Only Begotten Son of God ~ fulfilled over 300 prophecies with impeccable accuracy and faithfulness, we can place our complete trust in Him as The Miracle Maker and Promise Keeper ~ and THE One and Only Way to eternal life.
