As I write this in May of 2019, it is the day before my dear Mama Cheryl’s very first birthday in heaven.
Fresh waves of grief gently billow over my heart since her absence.
Yet, I am continually amazed at how God the magnificent Creator knows the need of my heart and addresses that in the most creative ways in nature.
At just the right moment, my precious Heavenly Father sent another painted lady butterfly while I was taking pictures of flowers ~ this time in Oakland, California, the same city where Mom's memorial service was held six months earlier. (The other painted lady butterfly sighting was at Point Reyes National Seashore, featured in my butterfly gallery.)
This was God’s second winged love note in 11 days. Having two butterfly visits this close together has never happened to me before.
In fact, prior to this month, the last time I was able to take a photo of a butterfly was over 3-1/2 years ago.
