Sometimes, when God invites us to stop and smell the flowers, He does so in a grand way!

Hillside daisies (Monolopia lanceolata) paint a dazzling portrait of vibrant beauty, as the hills of the Temblor Range rise in a dramatic backdrop to this floral intersection at the entrance to Carrizo Plain National Monument in south central California, USA during the 2019 Superbloom.

Timing and location are paramount in wildflower photography. In less than a week after this uncropped photo was taken, the blossoms had mostly wilted, their fleeting beauty kept alive in pictures and pleasant memories.

If heaven had stop signs — as if they needed them — I would imagine it might look something like this. But infinitely more beautiful.
