Description
A great blue heron (Ardea herodias) makes a majestic statement with water streaming from its feet as it seeks higher ground at a wildlife refuge near San Francisco Bay.
The largest of the North American herons, these magnificent birds attain a height of up to 54 inches (138 cm) and a wingspan of up to 79 inches (201 cm). Their habitat ranges from Alaska, Canada and the Pacific coast east to Florida and south to Mexico and South America.
Its exquisite plumage reminds me of Psalm 91, which promises safety and security to those who place their trust in God::
"He who dwells in the shelter of Elyon,
will abide in the shadow of Shaddai.
I will say of Adonai,
'He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.'
For He will rescue you from the hunter’s trap
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge.
His faithfulness is body armor and shield."

Hi Brian! This is one of my very favorites of yours! It looks like an oil painting to me, a superior one you might see on the cover of a wildlife magazine or hung on the wall of wildlife organization. The colors, patterns, action, reflections, etc. are incredible! Of course, your Scriptural description of it is as well!
