Description
Purple Majesty :: A striking bearded iris growing along the road caught my eye while on a walk during a beautiful late afternoon in the San Francisco Bay Area. Photo taken April 18th, 2016. I love how "18" represents "Chai" which means "life" in Hebrew.
Purple speaks of God's royalty as His children when we receive the Perfect Gift of Yeshua Jesus into our hearts.
According to the American Iris Society, there are nearly 70,000 registered iris cultivars! These magnificent perennials are easy to grow in temperate climates.
With their distinct beauty, they gently remind us to think positive, uplifting thoughts of excellence throughout the day.
"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable -- if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise -- dwell on these things." (Philippians 4:8, Tree of Life Version - TLV)
This image is truly a labor of love, with hours spent in PhotoShop removing by hand nearly 4,000 tiny specks of dust from the roadway and environment that landed on the petals, in particular on the "falls" (petals pointing downward), to bring out the unmarred beauty of this magnificent blossom, and to maintain the original integrity of the color hues, shading and textures of the blossom.

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ ב ס " ד ] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
The "Fine Art America" watermark in the full resolution preview will not show in the final print/product purchased.
