Description
While staying at the Home of Peace historic bed-and-breakfast (established 1893) in Oakland, California, I went to the car to load my suitcase and saw this magnificent cloudscape over Beulah Chapel across the parking lot, where my dear Mother’s memorial service was held six months prior.
Fortunately, I had my camera handy and took several pictures of this memorable moment before the clouds dissipated.
This is my favorite one.
It was the day after precious Mom's first birthday in heaven, May 2019.
God sends His majestic love notes at just the right time to bring comfort and reassurance.
“God, please tell Mom, ‘I love you.’”
Point to Ponder:
As you remember a dearly departed loved one, what things do you like to do to keep their memory and legacy alive?
Meditative Scripture:
This photo reminds me of that approaching Great Day when the Lord Messiah Yeshua Jesus will return in the clouds of glory.
As I was about to look up online a Scripture to go with this photo, BibleGateway.com posted this passage as the “Verse of the Day”, which fits perfectly.
Again, God’s timing is impeccable.
The passage is from I Thessalonians 4:16-17, which is a Scripture of comfort that gives us reassurance:
“For the Lord Himself shall come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the blast of God’s shofar, and the dead in Messiah shall rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left behind, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air—and so we shall always be with the Lord.”
Are you ready for that Great Day?
For it will arrive suddenly…

About Beulah Chapel and the Home of Peace:
Beulah Chapel is located on the property of the historic Home of Peace in Oakland, California. Its beautiful exterior, roof and interior were built in 1894.
The Home of Peace property has served various functions. The main building, Montgomery House (not pictured), built in 1893, was the first home of healing on the West Coast and a lodging place for missionaries. During its 125+ year history, many notable missionaries and ministers of the Gospel have stayed on these sacred grounds, including evangelist Smith Wigglesworth and William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army.
Home of Peace was the vision of Mrs. Carrie Judd Montgomery, who experienced a dramatic healing miracle of God on February 26, 1879 in a small house in Buffalo, New York. She published her first book, The Prayer of Faith, which chronicled the powerful testimony of her divine healing.
In 1890, Mrs. Montgomery married a successful businessman, George S. Montgomery and they moved to San Francisco, California.
According to the Home of Peace website::
Mrs. Montgomery writes, “When Mr. Montgomery went out with the builder to show him where to locate the house, a lovely snow-white dove came and circled around my dear husband’s head. When he came in and told me about this we thought it was significant and said, ‘We will call it the Home of Peace.'” By 1893, the Home of Peace was completed and opened as the first healing home on the west coast.
After the turn of the 20th century, the Home of Peace quickly became a way station for missionaries with San Francisco and Oakland as their port of departure or return. Constantly adapting to the need of Christians and non-Christians alike internationally, the Home of Peace has served as a healing home, school of ministry, orphanage, boarding house, missionary supplier and shipper.
Since then hundreds of missionaries and Christian workers have felt the warm Christian atmosphere that the Montgomery’s fostered here so many years ago. Guests from all over the United States and abroad have and continue to enjoy the hospitality offered here at the Home.
Now, over the 125+ years since Mrs. Montgomery moved her ministry to Oakland, the Home of Peace continues to strive to meet the needs of the world-wide Christian community. Today the Home is primarily used as a Bed and Breakfast for Christian individuals, couples, missionaries, and families visiting the Bay Area, as well as churches and ministries who wish to host group events ranging from four to four hundred people at one time.

Artwork notes:
Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ ב ס " ד ] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
This image may be ordered as a museum quality fine art print (framed or unframed) and other products featured on this page. All artwork ordered through Fine Art America comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and world-wide shipping is available.
