This is a photo of a Fourth of July 2014 fireworks sequence over San Francisco Bay, taken in one single exposure lasting four seconds.
Thick fog obscured the top portion of the pyrotechnic display but proved to be a blessing in disguise as the flares reflected off the fog blanket, creating a unique vibrant glow.
In June 2022, using the latest version of PhotoShop, I carefully and painstakingly re-edited the upper left portion of the fireworks display to bring out the details of the light trails that had been almost completely obscured by the thick fog.
Uniquely seen in this photo are more than 10 mortars being launched from ground level to their destination in the sky, their light trails forming a cone-shaped illumination.
This colorful fireworks abstract reminds me of how our Heavenly Father celebrates each of us as His special masterpiece.
"Adonai your God is in your midst - a mighty Savior! He will delight over you with joy. He will quiet you with His love. He will dance for joy over you with singing." - Zephaniah 3:17, Tree of Life Version

Artwork note: Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ ב ס " ד ] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" -- "Glory to God alone".
