Redwood trees reach toward the sky near Cathedral Grove in Muir Woods National Monument, Mill Valley, California.
Muir Woods is home to one of the last remaining strands of old-growth coastal redwoods in the world, with an average age of 700 years and a height of up to 258 feet.
The park was established in 1908, and in the year of its centennial (2008), it was listed as an historic district in the National Register of Historic Places.
April 22, 2015 marked the 45th Anniversary of Earth Day.
As we think and act to be good stewards of the beautiful planet God loaned to us, may we endeavor to protect both the baby animals AND the baby humans. Indeed, life is fragile and precious... from cradle to grave.
