Description
California poppies (Eschscholzia californica) make their glorious appearance beside the glimmering azure blue waves of Richardson Bay near Mill Valley, California on a balmy April day in the San Francisco Bay Area. This vibrant blossom became the state's official flower in 1903.
After years of drought and a very wet winter in 2016-2017 bringing much needed rain, the Golden State is experiencing a super bloom of wildflowers.
“For behold, the winter has past, the rain is over, it has gone. Blossoms appear in the land, the time of singing has come” (Song of Solomon 2:11-12a, Tree of Life Version [TLV]).

Artwork notes::
Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
