Redwood Creek forms a reflective mini-pond of water in the forest at Muir Woods National Monument near Mill Valley, California.

This dramatic vertical perspective was taken on Veteran's Day, November 2015.

Fallen maple leaves provide vitamin C and other nutrients for the soil, plants and wildlife.

Even with the lack of precipitation, there was some water in the stream after the first substantial rain of the season in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Muir Woods is home to one of the last remaining strands of old-growth coastal redwoods in the world, with an average age of 700 years and a height of up to 258 feet.

The park was established in 1908, and in the year of its centennial (2008), it was listed as an historic district in the National Register of Historic Places.

This tranquil scene is a marvelous place in which to calm one's soul and to meditate on the Creator of this beautiful planet He has given us to steward.
