Description

No visit to Israel would be complete without a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee on which my precious Master and Savior, Yeshua Jesus miraculously walked (Matthew 14:22-33).

It was thrilling to actually be on this Lake I've read about in Scripture since childhood. You can indeed sense God's peace and presence on these holy waters.

On the day of our boat ride, the weather was rainy and cloudy when we embarked, and gloriously sunny when we came ashore. It was like the Lord calmed the "storm" for us.

This scene on the Galilee was taken from our tour group's boat near Tiberias. Visible in the background are distant hills on the eastern side of the lake and the strategic Golan Heights.

Interesting facts: The Sea of Galilee (also known as Lake Kinneret or Lake Tiberias) is nearly 705 feet (215 meters) below sea level, making it the lowest fresh water lake on Earth. It provides a portion of the drinking water for the State of Israel.

Photography notes:

I took this picture in November 2009 when my parents celebrated their 50th Anniversary during a trip to Israel. This photo was taken with a 10 mp Sony Handicam (still-photo mode). Very little post-production editing and cropping was done, and the image and colors are very close to the way they came out of the camera.

My prayer is that the viewer and the buyer of this image would be reminded of their own pilgrimage to Israel, or would be inspired to plan a trip to the Holy Land. I encourage everyone to visit Israel at least once..... you will never be the same!
