Description
Fireworks resembling palm trees explode over San Francisco Bay on Fourth of July 2014. A thick blanket of fog obscured much of the top portion of the pyrotechnic display; however, there were an adequate number of low-level sparklers which still made for a gorgeous presentation.
I took this photo in one exposure, manually keeping the shutter open for 8.1 seconds during the entire sequence.
The three "palm trees" pictured here remind me of the wise maxim in Ecclesiastes 4:12: "A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken" (New Living Translation).
