UPDATE July 2016:: The colorful trees in this photo have been removed due to road construction and re-landscaping. This photo will truly become a rarity as the foreground landscape as it appears in this image can no longer be photographed again in person. Indeed, a special moment in time captured!
Brilliant autumn foliage greets motorists traveling toward downtown Mill Valley, California as Mount Tamalpais, the highest peak in Marin County, rises in the background. This picture was taken in November 2014. The fall colors that day were indeed show-stopping gorgeous!
When I see colorful trees in their glorious fall foliage, it makes me think of Thanksgiving, and how each day is a cherished, special gift from God for which to be grateful.
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".

What a shame to lose those beautiful trees. Glad you captured this landscape when you did.

Thank you very much Sharon... It was by divine Providence that I was prompted to take this photo before the changes occurred. I learned that the trees in this photo turned out to not be suitable for the low tidal area that is subject to an influx of salty water, so the city replaced them with more suitable species of trees.
