Description
Brilliant colors are splashed like vivid paint onto the canvas of leaves. This photo of a Japanese Bonfire Maple (Acer palmatum "bonfire") was taken in late July 2013 in a garden in the San Francisco Bay Area. This particular maple cultivar's leaves exhibit a striking coral red in the spring, followed by deep green in the summer, then turning to fiery crimson in the fall. Cool days and cold nights make for spectacular color. A magnificent example of the Creator's gift of beauty in nature.
I gently sprayed the leaves with water to bring out the spectacular color and fine textures. A couple of water droplets formed at the tips of two of the leaves.
This digitally enhanced photo has a painterly quality that will help brighten a room in your home, office, waiting room or business.
