Description
A black-tailed bumble bee (Bombus melanopygus) prepares to land on a cluster of California lilac blossoms (Ceanothus) near San Francisco Bay in early summer 2019.
These VIPs = Very Important Pollinators have an admirable work ethic ~ remarkably industrious and dependable, without complaining.
We humans can certainly learn from and be inspired by God’s amazing creation in nature!
“But now ask the animals and they will teach you,
or the birds of the sky and they will tell you,
or speak to the earth and it will teach you,
or the fish of the sea and they will inform you.
Which of these does not know
that the hand of Adonai has done this?”
~ Job 12:7-9
*****
Some fast facts about bumblebees::
> Bumblees are some of the most proficient and effective pollinators. The many hairs on their bodies helps transport and transfer pollen more effectively than even honeybees.
> The flight muscles of bumblebees help move pollen to various parts of the flower for pollination.
> About one third of our food supply in America depends on pollinating insects like bumblebees and honeybees.
> Nearly a third of bumblebee species are declining in North America.
> Planting native flowering plants and maintaining gardens free of pesticides can help promote healthy populations of these important pollinators.

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
